When it came to planning our baby shower, I had no idea where to start and was overwhelmed with all the cute themes that were out there. We had planned to have our baby shower around October and were going back and forth between themes.
I fell in love with the autumn/fall-themed baby shower idea. I’ve always loved that time of year and thought it’d be perfect and easy to get supplies because everything was in season.
We DIY’d basically everything. It was so easy and didn’t take up too much time because it was such an easy theme to follow. We ended up having our shower the day before Halloween so the kids were also able to dress up and we had treats for them!
So, I decided to curate a list of all the things that brought together the whole theme. Doing this also brings back such happy memories.
Invitations
- I made my own invites in less than a couple of hours and sent them all digitally to save time mailing them out and getting everyone’s addresses.
- I used the colors orange, brown, green, white, and beige for my invitations and as a color scheme to follow for the party
- The invitations had the phrase “A little pumpkin is on the way”
- I would totally recommend doing a diaper raffle and putting that somewhere on the invitation where people bring diapers to enter to win a prize!
Decorations
- Flower arrangements ( sunflowers & greenery, my mom and I put them together)
- Pumpkins filled with succulents
- Wood pallets (My aunt stained them with natural wood colors)
- Different sized pumpkins
- Galvanized tubs (They sell them at Home Depot/Walmart/Target and you can reuse for other parties!)
- Fall colored table cloths
Photo Area
We went for a pumpkin patch look!
- Hay stacks (Got at a feed store then my dad gave them away to a friend who could use them!)
- More pumpkins!
- Leftover sunflowers from arrangements
- Mini wooden table/bench
- Blanket
- You can also add a personalized sign!
Favors
- Mini pumpkin soaps (my cousin got them from etsy!)
- Popcorn bags (We also put those in the galvanized tubs to bring the look together!)
- Arrangements (We let families take home the pumpkin and sunflower arrangements)
Food & Drink
We had a taquero and my family brought homemade food as well, so that part wasn’t really themed!
- Pumpkin cake pops
- Mimosa bar
- Apple juice (Threw those in the galvanized tubs + beer in a separate one for the adults!)
- Orange drizzled pretzel sticks
- Charceuterie board
Games
My cousins were in charge of this category, and it was super fun!
- Homemade “Lil’ Pumpkin” Plinko Board
- Honeycomb game with the shape of a pumpkin to carve out (this was when this trend was super popular)
- A game where you collect all the mini babies you can (Not sure the name of this one lol)
- Guess the size of mama’s belly with a string
As you can see, everything is pretty simple and easy to find! I had so much fun and would definitely do it all over again. I’m sure there is much more things to add to get creative, so let me know what you did for your baby shower!
Very good blog post. I absolutely love this website. Keep writing!
